Description
The Small slab roller 50x70cm for ceramics is an essential tool for potters and ceramic artists seeking to roll precise, even clay slabs. Measuring 50 cm x 70 cm with a height of 22 cm, it fits seamlessly into studio spaces, providing an efficient working area while remaining compact. This slab roller is engineered to roll out clay with ease, making slab building accessible even to beginners.
The unit comes with two MDF boards that allow you to roll clay slabs 10/12 mm or 5/6 mm thick. This versatility lets makers produce slabs suited to various projects, whether for structural pieces, wall panels, or sculptural bases. Additional boards of varying sizes and thicknesses can also be used to achieve your desired slab thickness. However, we recommend keeping a minimum board thickness of 10 mm to prevent any sagging in the centre, which could result in uneven slabs. A board that is too thin risks bowing under the weight of the clay.
With a weight of 17 kg, the slab roller sits securely on your workbench, ensuring smooth, even rolling. It produces slabs up to a maximum thickness of 17 mm depending on the boards used, always guaranteeing a smooth and uniform surface.
The dispatch time for the small slab roller 50x70cm is 3 to 4 weeks maximum, allowing a reasonable lead time for delivery and setup in your studio. Versatile and straightforward to use, this slab roller is an indispensable asset for slab-building techniques—a staple method in pottery for shaping complex forms and one-off pieces.
